"His expressive language has greatly improved as his stories, which previously were rambling, now have a beginning, middle, and end. And sounds that used to bother him, no longer do...The best part is that he is getting all his work done this year. And he is happy when he gets out of school. He tells me about his day now which he would never do before. What a difference! "

"I wanted to share our 6 month update since our son had Berard AIT. I am touching wood as I write this because I do not want to put the whammy on the dramatic improvements we have seen so far!

Our son is 7.7 and has a history of many ear infections and a family history of an uncle and cousin with dyslexia. Last spring, he was identified as having Auditory Processing Disorder, moderate phonological dyslexia, very slow processing speed, poor listening comprehension and visual tracking and convergence issues.

He is also nearly gifted in Visual Reasoning. He had 32, 38, and 46 point discrepancies on his WISK-IV. With the exception of Listening Comprehension and Understanding Directions, he was above grade level. But he wasn't getting his work done at school.

Although he was reading above grade level, the school offered to put him in the Sp/Ed Resource room for Reading and Language Arts - primarily to build his Listening Comprehension. And we are also awaiting a trial of a sound field system for the classroom.

He is doing much better this year than last year. We have done a lot of remediation in this past year including Berard AIT six months ago. His Sp/L did not even see the issues that were documented in his evaluations from last spring, especially in his phonological discrimination. His expressive language has greatly improved as his stories, which previously were rambling, now have a beginning, middle, and end. And sounds that used to bother him, no longer do.

This year, the teacher says she needs to touch his shoulder to get him on track. (According the CPT-II test, he does not have ADHD.) The best part is that he is getting all his work done this year. And he is happy when he gets out of school. He tells me about his day now which he would never do before. What a difference!

I feel very blessed that we found Berard AIT!  Without it, I do not think we would be debating the merits of Special Education for our son."
