This child was given AIT Sessions by
an AIT Practitioner working in Asia.
"By the end of day 10 we had full
sentences and he has gone on to achieve normal speech and inclusion into a
mainstream school."
Most
children are stimulated to be kept awake during AIT, but this Practitioner
writes the following about her experience with a child who slept through most of
this AIT sessions:
"During my AIT training I discussed this and was assured the auditory
nerve continues to work during the sleep mode. In fact, the most startling success I have had is with a 3 year
old, non-verbal, autistic child, who basically rolled his eyes up into his head
and went immediately into deep sleep when the music started, and slept for 5
hours after each session. He did that for the first six days, notching up about
10 hours sleep a day and then sleeping all night.
On day seven he stayed awake
and at the end of the day said "Home now!"
By the end of day 10 we had full
sentences and he has gone on to achieve normal speech and inclusion into a
mainstream school.
With children who struggle against the
headphones
I try to organize the sessions to take place during their nap times to avoid the
distress."
